It\u2019s as if time stood still for a large part of the world with the onset of the pandemic. However, the landscape in the UAE continued to develop and is coming to fruition. This year, some of the megaprojects in Dubai (2021) are nearing completion, ceased developments are picking up once again, and fresh projects have been announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s a list of 8 of the most exciting projects in the city for 2021. Read on and be excited with us!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Museum of the Future<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of Dubai\u2019s most ambitious projects just reached a step closer to completion. This eye-catching structure on Sheikh Zayed Road is covered in Arabic calligraphy illuminated by solar-powered LED lights at night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exterior extends over more than 17,000 sq. meters and is made up of 1,024 pieces installed over the course of 18 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A tweet by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum stated that the Museum of the Future is \u201cthe most innovative building in the world\u201d and \u201ca global engineering icon.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ain Dubai<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With the addition of all its 47 pods and lights, Ain Dubai will become the world\u2019s largest observation wheel standing at 210 meters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Formerly known as Dubai-I, the wheel on Bluewaters Island will provide a 360-degree view of the Burj Al Arab, Marina, Palm Jumeirah, and Burj Khalifa. It will be able to carry up to 1,400 passengers and its base will serve as an entertainment zone lined with dining and retail souks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each capsule, capable of carrying 40 passengers each, can also be transformed into an \u201cin capsule\u201d dining experience along with 6 dedicated VIP capsules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One Za’abeel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One Za’abeel is a pair of towers located next to Dubai\u2019s Trade Center. The two towers are connected by a 7,700-tonne bridge known as \u201cThe Link\u201d, which will host restaurants and an observation deck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tower B is 241 meters high and was topped out earlier than Tower A which now stands at 304 meters. The project will also include a One&Only Resort and will house many offices and residential units<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ciel Dubai<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The city already houses the world\u2019s tallest hotel \u2013 the 365 Gevora Hotel. However, a new record holder will once again be in Dubai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 365-meter-tall hotel will have 1,209 luxury hotel suites, premium guest amenities and facilities, and a signature rooftop sky terrace. A glass observation deck with 360 degrees views, Ciel Observatory and Lounge on the 81st<\/sup> floor topped with a spectacular infinity pool and bar are also some of the amazing features of the hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Royal Atlantis Resort<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Whoever said we can\u2019t have two Atlantis on the Palm is wrong. Although this one does not have the iconic arch of the long-time hotel, according to its website, it will have \u201ca playful contrast between fire and water.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 5.5 billion AED resort will have 213 luxury apartments, 693 hotel rooms, and 102 suites. It will also feature 90 swimming pools, including an infinity pool suspended 96 meters above The Palm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exclusive resultants by international celebrity chefs like Gast\u00f3n Acurio, Costas Spiliadis, Ariana Bundy, Heston Blumenthal, and Jose Andres will adorn the Royal Atlantis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expo 2020<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This world-fair will see more than 190 countries coming together to exhibit their visions and plans for the future through uniquely designed and extravagant pavilions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event will run from October 2021 \u2013 March 2022 and sees no chance of it being postponed or cancelled again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the main attractions will be Al Wasl Plaza \u2013 a dome filled with fountains, waterfalls, parks, and palm-lined courtyards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meydan One Mall<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Meydan One Mall in MBR City<\/a> will be home to the world\u2019s longest indoor ski slope once it opens. The slope will be 1km long, inside the 12,000 sq. m. Winter Village. A 400 m Central canyon and football and cricket facilities will also be inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Divided into three clusters: business, logistics, and social \u2013 the free zone aims to attract global and regional manufacturers, distributors, and global e-retailers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first phase of this 3.2 billion AED e-commerce free zone in Umm Ramool will have more than 95,000 sq. m. of officed and 50,0000 sq. m. of logistic units and multi-client warehouses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
